Chris Winkler and the Viper crew set out this morning to test out the new Viper ACR on a track for the first time — and in the course of that testing managed to set a new course record at Laguna Seca for a production car.
At 12:26 Pacific time, after six hot laps and a few hours of practice runs, Dodge SRT engineer Chris Winkler clocked a lap time of 1:33.915. Click over to our Viper Test page for a ton of video, photos, and news updates throughout the day.

How fast was that Viper going? All I saw was a black streak with a splash of red. The Viper, the most underrated exotic car on the market. Definitely a best buy for super cars!

That’s all we saw too…but the guys at the track said the Viper was going 135 MPH when it crossed the start/finish line.
