    It is the rarest new Challenger that will be built.

    It’s the dedicated racing allotment of 500 cars so they can go racing. In the Canadian marketing bulletin to dealer’s sent in mid March stated that this car is a collector car.

    Final Thoughts:
    If you want a Challenger 500, then it’s too late. The Challenger 500 was a gift to customer’s who pre-ordered their Challenger’s from the dealer before the production model came out. Leave the Challenger 500’s to the real Mopar guys.

    First
    Ask them what fuse they replaced was it the one that factory removes during shipping that keeps the car in limp mode and only lets it go 20MPH? This is in case someone steel’’s the car it will only go 20MPH

    Second
    Ask them if the fuse was missing that is in the car to replace the limp mode fuse. The reason you want to ask this question is if a fuse was blown in another area they probably replaced it with the limp mode fuse because it was the only available fuse in the car. and it is probably the wrong fuse for what was blown

    Third
    Ask them if the would not shift into gear when the shifter was moved. If that is the case the harness was cut.

    Here is the fix and you need your dealer to do this ASAP anyway.
    When the emergency brake is all of the way down a piece of the mechanism under the dash on the left side by the A frame smashes the harness and cuts into the wire that operates the shifter. Before you let the dealer fix this you need to climb under your driver side dash and set the Emergency brake and see if it hitting the harness. If it is cut I would demand a new harness. If it is not cut the fix is to wrap the harness 2 two times over with a thick Mastic. Mastic is a sticky tape that prevents cuts and punchers if applied correctly. Then you push the harness back up through the slot. and you are done. They say it is a 5 min fix.

    On a brighter note, your car is finished with inspection and has left for the stripe shop in Windsor. The stripe shop has been keeping up with the cars they receive every day. They don’t work Saturday so your car is likely to be striped and badged on Monday.

    Dodge has gone to the extent of providing Customer Service for us to call, provided an online tracker, etc., but they need to do some quality control on the individuals interfacing with the customers. There have obviously been some unhappy customers during portions of this wait and unqualified assistance reps with little to no knowledge of their field have only intensified the situation. I would rather get no information than something made up by our foreign friend answering the phone.
    It should be obvious to Dodge Management that they need to permanently hire someone to fill the role you have been filling. You are a dealer, but have become one of the only sources of reliable information and customer service. So Dodge, if you are listening, promote Bob or get someone to permanently fill the position he took on himself!

    JONO dont count on the schedule it is wrong most of the time. It was not your car it as all of the cars that were built up to last night. That issue messed everything up. Remember the tracker and VIN vison are behind about 24 hours. dealer link is behind about 12 hours. The tracker updates about 9:45 AM MON-FRI only and the plant operates 2 shifts a day MON-FRI they get weekends off.

     They are sending all of the built Challengers including all in transit to storage facilities. This is due to an electrical problem/short in the transmission electrical system. They are still building Challenger at a rate of 180 units a day with the problem but when they are finished they are sending them to storage yards until the issue can be isolated and a fix for the short.      One thing that i found really awesome is the exhaust note. when you get on the car (the car really wants to go!) the exhaust opens up in a way that is unlike any car i have heard before. When you take your foot off the gas the car goes silent. very helpfull as my lead foot came across about 6 cops working detail. what an awesome feature. my vin was 289114 and ended up being car #74, if someone wants to try and decipher how that works out.
