Lots of people have their eyes on Challenger production. Here’s a story from Brampton about bringing one back across the border…much more on production to come.

The Challenger (SRT) is a great looking car, just what I want, but it’s 2008. You can’t have a car that gets crappy gas mileage. You think that Dodge would have learned by now that they have to build a cool looking car with a practical power plant. They need a 6cyl and overdrive that gets 30 hwy in this car. I grew up with Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth cars in our family, but they didn’t keep up with the times. I want to come back as a Dodge owner but my last two GM cars got 30+ hwy mpg. Would not be smart to settle for less.
No more complaining…the Challenger is now on the way to the dealerships!
EVERYONE !!! Quit your bitching and remember what is at the end of the line! A classic car right out of the box that you can enjoy today………. I don’t work for Dodge…….
I think we are all grateful that Dodge is finally making a real muscle car again, but to wait 35 years is insane. You wait too long and you miss the boat. Hopefully, they will have a hybrid version for 2010. I guess we should all stop whining and complaining and just be thankful that someone woke up and starting listening to the customers. Who knows maybe they will make a Charger that has the sides curved in like the Challenger. The flat sided box look has to go. It somewhat works on the 300, but just doesn’t fly on a sports car.
Curtis, I agree with you 110%. I too am finding the whining and complaining to be a bit embarrassing. Dodge, take your time and make it right.
amen curtis……..
A big heart felt thanks to Dodge and their great engineering team for brining the Dodge Challenger to life. You have done an awesome job. Thanks for listening to your customers and doing your best to accommodate our recommendations. You have done a terrific job with the car and I hope sales continue to be strong even with the rising cost of fuel.
In reading the other posts, I am embarrassed at all the whining and complaining of some of the individuals. I can only assume that the majority of the complaints are coming from the me, myself and I generation who have not learned the virtue of being patient. Afer all, its all about their selfish needs and wants.
I have waited many years to be able to not only afford a muscle car like the Dodge Challenger but to also be able to buy a car that captures the essence of American Muscle.
Take your time building my 2008 Dodge Challenger. Quality is second to none so I can wait. And, for all the whiners you have to deal with there are many more of us who are grateful for your accomplishment.
Chrysler is doing a very POOR job of keeping it’s customers informed. Makes me wonder what kind of service one will get once the first year bugs start to show themselves!!
Of course the car got stopped at the border because nobody really thinks they are ever going to make one. The dealers just stold your money because they are all going bankrupt next week. I think I will have to purchase a vintage Challenger so I can enjoy it before the price of gas spikes to $10 a gallon.
I agree Superbird !! As a customer, I have never been treated so bad. Dodge could not possibly be happy about “all” the negitive feedback being posted on this site, unless they really don’t read the comments. Has anyone noticed that Dodge has “never” addressed any issues posted on this site? We’ve been screwed, glued, and tatoo’d ! Thanks Dodge boys.
LeonHemi - What are you smoking? The roof that is placed on the car is pre-formed, it either comes with or without a sun-roof cavity and is determined by the automated build process. It takes no longer to put a car with a sun-roof through than one without.
Forget it, you are just another customer waiting on a commodity. It will arrive when it arrives.
If I had a penny for every anxious comment on this forum, gosh, I could buy a Challenger. Of course, I wouldn’t take delivery for a couple years. Oh, and by then it would be nothing special. Just one of those Gas Guzzlers, that Obama is going to make illegal for the road in 2009, presuming the country is stupid enough to vote for him.
Oh, there is one more thing, Dodge - the joke is on you Dodgeboys. Your lack of communication skills are excellent. A+ for nothing. F on customer satisfaction though, and C, no wait D, err, D1, no C, awe forget it, make that BG - for the Bad Guys.
HOPEEEEEEEEEE thanx for the update of the total of cars being built and built. about how many cars can be built in one day at full speed. one question was asked whan building a car without a sun roof are they built first and maybe a lower number when they are done, are they easier to build so are they bulit first ????????thanx again
Thanks for the update in progress and keep up the positive word, as for the negative DA, hope you have a defect when you get your car.
Automotive News reports 550 built last week and 382 the week before. Production is ramping up! Dodge’s deadline for completing all of the 2008s is mid-July when the factory closes for vacation. By the 2nd week of August, the R/Ts will start production and the SRTs in September.
On the negative side, someone posted on another site that the company in Windsor, Canada that installs the hood decal has not completed its first car for retail sales. They were supposed to start last week.
At least someone gets to drive one. To bad its not the customers who plopped down a deposit 6 months ago. But as we all know the customer is irrelevant… Oh wait, the customer is supposed to be the focus.
what a joke…feed us a bunch of bs to fill the time while they scramble to say why they have totally dropped the ball and not delivered a single car!
“much more on production to come”
dodge, you can’t dodge this bullet forever. just be honest already. ‘08 buyers are sick of being lied to or left in the dark.
