Feb 5, 2008 at 2:16PMThe months of waiting are almost over. We’re mere hours away at this point…RLD has braved the cold, fog and wind of Chicago in February to bring you saturation coverage of the event.
But hold the phone, because you won’t need to wait for the page to refresh or for our correspondents to file their stories. You can watch the launch live by clicking through to our launch video here. So clear your schedule and be here at 11:45a EST/10:45a Central for the big debut (which might just have a few cool folks in attendance, but we don’t want to ruin the surprise).
And as always, we’ll be putting up photos, thoughts and reviews for the rest of the week. The Challenger is about to be reborn. This isn’t the end of the journey…it’s only the beginning of the excitement for us.

THEY WON’T TELL US WHEN THE CAR IS COMING OUT.
IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS.
WHEN THE CAR WAS OFFICIALLY DISPLAYED ON 2/6, THIS WEBSITE SAID MAY AT THE VERY END OF THE VIDEO.
TODAY THE AUCTION STARTED FOR #43, AND THE AUCTION CLAIMS IT WILL BE DELIVERED BY 6/30/08.
THERE WERE 6400 CARS ON ORDER BY 12/6/07, SO EXPECT A LONG WAIT….
When are the Challengers coming out?
Chrysler has done a wonderful job with the Challenger, but in a time of high and unstable gas prices, it isn’t fair to limit high end features such as Brembo brakes and the reconfigurable display with Performances Pages to the SRT version. Those features need to be available on the R/T version as well.
No doubt - the steering wheel is one of the main focuses when you sit in the cockpit and the Challenger steering wheel looks like my Dodge Ram (not just the big stinking Ram Head, but the entire “look” and “feel”).
That dash and steering wheel kills the groove. Dig the rally dash on the 1970 through 1974. Those Cats from muscle car era are far out, not square. Kowalski lives in his soul mobile.
Months of waiting? Try 2 years of waiting on this dang car, But it was worth it to me.
Should have stayed closer to the concept,the greedy dealers may have to hang on to their
allotment longer than anticipated.
