The Challenger information you’ve been clamoring for is in the works as planned…it’s getting polished, the lawyers are eying it, the ‘i’s are being dotted and the ‘t’s being crossed. When it’s ready for release to the public, it will be here. Honestly, we’re as excited as you to see it out there…so believe us, we pass along your thoughts and desires for more on the Challenger every day. And as always, those thoughts are welcome and very, very much appreciated.
So again…thanks for your extraordinary enthusiasm for Challenger. We’ve got more Challenger interviews, insights and the much-anticipated production information in the pipeline. Your patience will soon be rewarded, dear readers…get your driving shoes on…

I personally think the axle ratio’s are a little small on the automatics. Man that seems weak to me. But whatever i guess. I want some 0-60 times and some darn quarter-mile times what’s up with that. I got a feeling this thing might tank that’s why there not saying anything. All this car might do is burn rubber. But on the lighter side if DODGE wants to put the srt-8 out first i’ll buy a used one in two years then cause you know they’ll be out there then. No way im buying that thing new for 40k your kidding. Those axle ratios seem small don’t even bother trying to go fast in these things it what it seems like. Just buy a 6 cylinder and LOOK COOL yeah right. The 03′ drop-top vette’ with 25k miles for 30k is looking so sweet right now Dodge you might as well pray that this thing floats everyone that wants to go might as well jump ship for the new chevy power-plant in the camaro. Well, specifications such as stopping distance, weight, and aerodynamic drag coefficients,would be nice. I must admit, not having that information is what’s really upsetting!

browndawgdude–We all are excited to get the information, its just that this blog is doing a poor job managing expectations. Besides the fact that numerous other websites have more information on the Challenger than this one, I find it annoying that Dodge wastes our time with a post titled “Challenger Info Coming…Very Soon!”.
Cudabear—I signed up for updates on the Challenger in 2006 as well and haven’t received ANYTHING.
As much as I dislike Ford and Chevy, they wouldn’t be pulling our chains like this.
they said they listen to everything that us “bloggers” say and appreciate it. so why is it.. they lied? look at the %s on the vote for engines.. what happened to the unicorn 6.3 or 6.4 whatever it was engine? when 99% posted we want a shell with a big engine and no frills other than whats required by law… what happened? nothing. whats the point of adding sirius when sirius is merging with xm?
how bout y’all einsteins at dodge put the pink tassels on the mirrors that come on little girls bikes and charge another 5 grand for that? every true muscle car needs frills like glittery pink tassels.
so now you got 9 more months to figure out how stupid you were… then release a shell with an huge engine and no frills for all of us that actually want a muscle car.

If someone @ Dodge is asking for an extension to a deadline to work some things out, that someone should be categorically DECLINED.

Wait a second…you guys are getting POed because you’re finally getting some production information? Weird, I figured you’d be happy. Hmm, I guess you can get the info from Camaro. Oh wait, there’s no production Camaro info. I guess you’ll just have to buy a Mustang. Oh wait, everyone’s already done that.
Guys, come on…this is the Challenger and the info you’ve been dieing for. Give some credit here and enjoy it!
I think you need to start taking mailing addresses so that you can send us free Challenger t-shirts and hats while we wait. When the information is FINALLY available, you can send all of us a personal press kit detailing every single spec for Challenger.
Of course this will come STANDARD with a 426 cu. in. HEMI with dual quads! Yeah, right. I get the feeling this will be priced about $6,000.00 cheaper than a loaded Viper. Notice I wrote cubic inch. I think we need to go back to being Americans and NOT Europeans. Cubic Inch displacement of an engine tells all that needs to be said.
If it’s true that only 5,000 Challengers will be made in 2008, I’d suggest that whoever came up with that poor idea needs to look for another line of work. Chances are that person is also the brain child that came up with this plan to string us all along with these teases.
The Challenger could be a great success story for Dodge… but don’t play these games with your customers. We’re going to shell out nearly $40,000 for a car; so I think we deserve to be treated much better.
I can be patient.
Just please let me pick my options for the BASE car like 6.1, manual, LS rear, etc.
Boomer, rear tires will be 20″ on the upper models (245/45’s). A/C is standard across the board. Keyless Go intro’s in the ‘09 models, navigation will be the MyGIG system which includes UConnect/Bluetooth, remote start will be also available as will heated mirrors and seats, HID lamps, tilt-telescope steering column, lighted map pockets and cupholders, Hill Start Assist and Limited slip axles on the manual models, Sirius Satellite radio, power sunroof, ESP, side air bags. No spare tire BTW.

With the exception of the prices the other info is well known. The pricing of course is all speculation as is your assumption that dealers are going to gouge. dropping 35-40K for a 1/5000 car seems a good deal to me. From a marketing point of view it may tick off others to have to wait an extra 9 months and get an ‘09 but it keeps the interest going and the fans drooling and they’ll get more options and better pricing for their patience.
Complaints about models and numbers are senseless though. Things are as ExHemiHead has said so why complain about it. If people don’t want to wait for an ‘09 they’ll go elsewhere but everyone harping on this site isn’t going to make them change their mind and make 100K cars the first year, its a done deal.
All I raelly need to know is what’s the real msrp. Some tech specs would be nice but because it will be my always garaged summer weekend cruiser that won’t be raced, I want to know what extra toys it’s going to have in it. things like what are the seats made out of, will the back tires be 20’s or 21’s, can I get a/c, can I get keyless go, pwr options, etc.
Sometime between Feb and June I will have one. It’ll be a 6.1 with some kind of auto and it’ll be orange and black and won’t be as fast, cool or as inexpensive as someone’s ‘09… but it will be mine and that’s what is important.

You can’t build people up like that then only give a limited run to the rich. I’m not going to wait another year, the economy won’t either.
Please do the right thing and build as many as you can sell. Ford made over 1/2 million Mustangs in 1965 and sold every one of them; they will sell one more Shelby next year if you do this.

I wonder if somebody at Dodge realy read what the real MOPAR fan are writing on this board. If the numbers that every body talking about are true. It’s might be the time for us the mopar fan to change, because Dodge realy don’t care about what we are thinking. Only rich peaple gone a have a new Challenger.
Guilty as charged. I’ve worked hard, made the sacrifices and now I deserve a nice toy and I can afford to pay a fair price, even a high msrp.
But I too am tired of the game, and it seems like a bad game. We understand if you can’t tell us things yet. its not being sold for months, and you want a flashy reveal in 70 days so be honest and tell us that you can’t tell us yet. better yet, tell us that you’ll have a news release on XX date or even give us a window of a couple weeks.
checking back here every day to see a title saying your going to tell us something only to find the message saying not yet, is really annoying.
so tell me when you’ll tell me thats all I need to know. the rest I will find out then.

Stop trying to build suspense. It’s not working at this point. People are starting to get pissed off at this point. We’ve been waiting for two years to see this car hit the road, and it’s going to be at least another year until normal folks might be able to afford it. Show us the production car and give us pricing info.
Well, isn,t that special. Some more crumbs of information/news from Dodge.Which really doesn’t provide any “new” news! If Edmunds is right about the very limited production of 5 thousand cars, then I’m out. Unless Dodge builds affordable cars along the price line of a v6 Stang, I am not wasting my time. I suppose this 08 car will become another well-healed boomer’s weekend car. Maybe some of your layers that are checking that the T’s are crossed and the I’s dotted will be able to afford this car. Best of luck Dodge, hope you stay in business and/or not sold again. I’m of to the Chevy Camaro site…perhaps visit the Ford dealer..
In regards to your survey for the most sucessful concept car in modern times I would have to say the Ford Mustang. I am a die hard mopar fan and truely love the NEW CHALLENGER. However if the new Challenger is not mass produced and priced competitively to the Mustang, the Mustang will remain on top and I sure hope that doesn\’t happen. So make lots of the new Challengers and keep the cost down so all of us how would love to have one can afford to buy one and make the new Challenger number 1.

Challenger will be out of the question. Seems like we get more info from Edmunds than from Dodge. I am a Chrysler die hard through and through. In 05 I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee(6cyl)and a Ram 1500 HEMI 4X4.
But this game is getting old, especially if it’s one ‘08 per dealer and they are all automatics.
Whats the point.. its already gonna flop. most of us all posted in prior messages that we dont want bells and whistles.. we want a body and an engine.. so whatta they do? hose us and make the SRT8 with all the bells and all that other nonsense so we cant afford it. How hard was it to put airbags.. cloth seats.. and a 6.1 in a shell? a lot easier than all that other junk.
That’s good to hear. I’ve just been enjoying the videos with the designers to be honest about the matter. Its really neat to get to know the personalities behind the car, especially in the cold generic world of today.
Well Dodge guys I got good news for you. My daughter just got a new management position within her company and her first question to me today was, Daddy can I afford a Challenger on may new salary. Play your cards right and there could be three Challengers in the Anderson Household. Go ahead, make an old soldier happy. I dare you!!
Red letter Dodge guys, All I can say is you had better have an Autumn Bronze color available - Not that UGLY Orange/Red you put on the 08 Avenger - but the 73 Cuda/Challenger color which is a rich copper penny color - then you got a sale - OH and I hope you all got the balls to name is “Catch me Copper”. Cause otherwire, I may have to get a green, yellow or purple one and that may cause my kids and wife to diviroce me - and you would be responsible - you don’t want that on your conscience now do ya?
