Give up Chevys and Fords!!! Mopar rules ! I love my 70 Challenger and can’t wait to see it next to the new one. what a treat it will be
Good looking cars for good looking women ! Yeehaw!!!!
man dont give up a GTO!? my dads got a 72 the thing is freaky fast 600 horse whew just dont give up a GTO man!
Chrysler has announced pricing on the Challenger SRT-8, the hot-rod version of the 2008 Dodge Challenger coupe: $37,995, including destination. The SRT-8 will come with the 6.1 liter HEMI V8 engine
I’ve watched this thing so many times now, I can’t wait to see one on the road and hopefully in my driveway. To see that car jumping at the line was sick!, like a PITBULL on a chain!
LynnDak is right-525 horses is this car would be incredible, they could call it the ‘Cuda package like the Charger’s Super Bee option.
OK, It’s after T’giving, time to put up the
numbers you’ve promised.
I love it and can hardly wait to own one:)!!
Watching that video (many times) makes me really sad (and angry) that I sold my 1971 Plymouth’Cuda. It was rallye red with a 340 10.5 high compression engine. It had a black shaker hood, black billboard 340 tape stripes, front, black rear louvers, elastometric bumpers, G60 X14 Goodyear white-lettered Polyglas tires, chrome hood pins, etc. Every where I went I got stares and compliments over it. The guy I sold it to said it is now worth $60,000!!
I can’t wait to buy a Challenger to replace it and get over the hurt!
I had to come back for another dose of this bad machine.
Man, I do miss my 71′. But this beast, from watching the video brought back vivid memories.
Can’t wait, to hopefully to get one, if I can afford it.
WOW; CAN’T WAIT TO GET ONE AND PARK IT NEXT TO MY HUSBAND’S 70. “PANTHER PINK” THAT’S MY ORDER.
I will have one…………. and it aint gonna have no sissy 6.1L in it either. 392ci Custom order here we come. At least a number us old HEMI folks understand.
Lynn
I want 1, going to give up my GTO to have 1
WOW! A new V-8 car, rear wheel drive, and only TWO doors! What a novel idea. HOW ABOUT A 426 HEMI? Bore it out some more Willy! Now yer talkin! Can’t you at least fake bumpers?
hopefully someone reads this that cares. Put a deposit at my local dealer, he tells me prod. numbers are going to be limited, I’m second on the list. price is a factor but availability is the major concern for this middle class worker. Why only build 10k units if you already have orders for 30k? Owned a 74 t/a when I was 20 and sold it to buy furniture for my new wife to the tune of 2500 dollars, second one was a 70 big block w/70k miles and no rust, went over it complete and sold it for 6500 a few years later for a down payment on land to build a house for my family. Brought tears to my eyes then and now when I think back to what I had. Now I find out that even though I can afford a new model I may not be able to get one because of prod. limits, do you want to make money or not, stop teasing the working guy and make some of our dreams come true.
Man this thing looks awesome! We need a price. I have a sinking feeling (based on the Charger SRT price) its going to be out of my limit. If Dodge is smart, they will price this for the middle class income consumer. If they do, this it will be a huge money maker for them. I will be sick if I have to watch from the sidelines.
This video is misleading. I never listen to the radio in my Challenger. It ruins the sound of the Tower of Power under the hood. I don’t care that I can’t afford a new one, because my old one is what it’s all about and it’s faster.
please lower the price its breaking my heart……..
dodge comes up with a true road ripping car,no matter how big a motor is, a four door car(charger)isnt cool.the challenger is cool………………….
Yeah great finally something, another bone for us dogs Uhh??? When the heck are you gonna price this thing cause im already about to sell my hemi 2 door 4×4 and buy a 50th aniversry VETTE drop top baby getting quotes as we speak. So if your talking turkey Dodge you might have lost me now. The vettes feeling sweet man. You guys need to price this thing already your doing yourselves a dis-service. The comericial is awsome but im really about to jump for the vette cause i can’t wait much longer ya’ll. I got a feeling and it’s vette now 2003 triple black drop top. PLEASE WIN ME BACK DODGE. No b.s. on pricing man if ya’ll want to sell this thing in the high 30’s you’ve lost. Peace. Your sous chef sully
Fantastic video. But, I have a problem, do I sell my ‘70 440 Challenger for a new one?
I’m going to trade in my 2005 orange blast SRT-4, for one of these beauties. Was that PLUM CRAZY???
Man, I literally got goosebumps watching that. I have NEVER had a car that was more than A-B transportation but this is a mid life crisis dream. You won’t make a 39 yr old more happy than when I get to pull that pistol grip back and make that Hemi sing!
Great Video and equally awsome hot rods.
Great commercial. I can’t wait to see it on T.V.!
wow…
I thought the Challenger concept couldn’t be treated in such a fashion, because it was strictly a show car and reviewers were reminded not to do such driving as the tires didn’t have proper clearance?
Was there a change made to the concept for this commercial or were the concept testers lied to about the actual abilities of the concept?
On that note, as a disabled person, I hope the V6/automatic becomes an option as I have limited income and would love to have the base Challenger for my car.
This also looked great in the video featuring the song ‘First Time’ by Lifehouse.
How irresponsible of Dodge to promote stop light burnouts……I would never stomp on the throttle of my Challenger R/T like that……okay, maybe only once or twice (an hour). Man, I’m gonna be single-handedly keeping the tire companies in business……..
Just the sound of the exhaust note was enough to make me cry, let alone the sight of that beautiful, beautiful car tearing away from the stop light - I WANT MY CHALLENGER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that’s what I’m talking about!!!!
Very nice video. Cool music and photography, great exhaust rumble, and such beautiful cars, even some humor thrown in for good measure. Is that the show car doing the burnout? Perhaps a pre-production unit? I hope it’s very close to what we’re getting, because it really is awesome.
This video is AWESOME!! I keep watching it over and over and leaves me wanting more!! It brought tears to my eyes and am THRILLED about the Challenger!! I am especially grateful since I was worried about the fate of the Challenger with all thats happening with Mopar right now.
I want a new R/T right now.
