Poll #1: Does Gas Mileage Affect Your Buying Decisions?
Aug 22, 2007 at 4:04PMFrom time to time, we’d like to get your thoughts on various hot topics. So for Poll #1, we thought we’d pick your brains on gas mileage.
The EPA mileage sticker is as recognizable on a car lot as a 100-foot inflatable ”SALE” gorilla, but does it really drive your purchasing decision? And how has that opinion changed in the past months and years as oil prices have ticked up?
Vote on our “Poll” box on the right side of the blog. And pass along any additional thoughts in the comments section of this post. We’re here to listen.

We’ll tackle these issues in more depth in future posts from Abdullah Bazzi (see “Bazzi’s World” post)…but here’s a quick answer from Mr. Bazzi himself. –RLD
“Unlike a hybrid car, which uses both an electrically powered motor and an ICE ( Internal Combustion Engine), the Battery powered electric vehicle(PEV) does not have an ICE and, thus, does not burn fossil fuel. Therefore, there won’t be a MPG measurement. The PEV on the other hand is measured by the kilowatt used per hour per mile ( Kilowatt-hours per mile).”
If you drive an all electric car, do you still measure performance as miles per gallon or would it be miles per kilowatt?
